MEET MEGAN
I'm Megan Hornbeek Allen — small business owner, nonprofit fundraiser, and proud Edmond mom running to represent House District 81.
A Bishop's Scholar at Oklahoma City University, I earned my BA in Religion before going on to complete two graduate degrees at Boston University — a Master's in Theological Studies and a Master's in Higher Education Administration. That academic foundation paired with my determination, and strong work ethic launched a career rooted in community, servant leadership, and getting things done.
For more than two decades, I've worked at the intersection of higher education and nonprofit leadership — as a registrar at Boston University and Oklahoma City Community College, in multiple roles at the Oklahoma City Community Foundation, and most recently as Executive Director of Alumni Engagement at OCU, where I led a team building strategic initiatives to deepen alumni loyalty and support. In 2020, OCU honored me with its Extra Mile Award for community engagement and service, and in 2021, I was initiated into the Phi Kappa Phi Honor Society.
With my husband Jeremy, I co-founded LiveBetter at Home, a senior care agency built on the belief that families deserve exceptional, compassionate support. Jeremy's lifelong connection to seniors and my background in community engagement came together to create a business focused on care.
Outside of work, I'm the deejay at my daughter's elementary school (aka: DJ Jazzy Megan), PTO Vice President, a Girl Scout troop leader, and an artist — because I believe a full life and effective leadership go hand in hand.
I know how to turn big ideas into real outcomes, and I'm ready to work hard every day for you and this community.
